WHAT:  Two time heart transplant recipient and PGA Golf Tour Player Erik Compton is devoted to raising awareness through Transplant Foundation Inc.; a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services for transplant families, increasing organ donation through community education and funding transplant research. Both Erik and Transplant Foundation have teamed up to raise funds for this cause through the foundation’s annual golf classic.

WHO: There are a few indisputably outstanding stories in the PGA, and Erik Compton is one of them. The inspiring story of Erik, a two time heart transplant recipient and professional golfer on the PGA Tour has been widely publicized in national media and he is using his story as a platform to give support to others who are struggling to cope with the sometimes overwhelming burdens pre and post transplant. On tour he visits patients in the hospital and gives motivational speeches to both patients and medical staff. He is the national spokesperson for Donate Life America the nonprofit alliance of national organizations and local coalitions in the United States dedicated to educating the public about organ, eye and tissue donation.
